FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here are some of the questions I get asked the most. If I missed yours, just reach out!
ORDERING
-
No. At this time I only accept orders through weekly drops on Sundays and for Saturday bulk order pickups/deliveries. My hope is that between these two menu offerings, most of your cake needs are met. I understand celebrations and sweet cravings happen early in the week too, but unfortunately I don't have the capacity to add additional offerings at this time. The current schedule ensures I can maintain the high quality of cakes for every order and fulfill the majority of requests, while having some time to rest and reset each week.
-
Absolutely! I'm always happy to review your ideas and discuss what I can do. I would love to help you find the right baker for you, even if that's not me.

A Personal, Gathering, or Elevated Sprinkle can be added to a Saturday bulk order, but the 3 Baby Sprinkle 12-packs or 5 Personal Sprinkle set minimum must be met first. I only offer solo cake orders as part of the weekly drops menu.
PICKUP & DELIVERY
-
Weekly orders are picked up Thursdays 4-7PM from The Little Apple Toy Shoppe at 2484 Broadway on the Upper West Side. Located on Broadway between 92nd and 93rd street, the 96th Street stop on the 1, 2, 3 is a convenient subway option!
Bulk pickup orders are collected near the bakery on the Upper West Side, closer to the Lincoln Center area. I will provide you with an exact pickup location once your order is finalized.
-
Weekly orders are pickup only, but delivery is available for Saturday bulk orders for a fee based on your delivery address. If you're interested in delivery for a bulk order, just mention it in your request and I'll provide pricing once I have your details!
-
All weekly menu orders are final and non-refundable, but if an emergency arises that prevents you from making the pickup window, please reach out and let me know. I'm human too and I'll do my best to work something out with you.
If you're unable to make it yourself, you can also designate someone else to pick up your order. Simply share the order details with them as I'll ask some questions at pickup to ensure they are meant to be claiming your order. You can also reach out to alert me of the change.
The Little Apple Toy Shoppe closes promptly at 7 so please do your best to arrive on time and communicate if it appears you may be cutting it close. I'm happy to hang around for a few minutes if I know you're en route!
Outside of emergencies or reasonable, communicated delays, any cakes remaining unclaimed at 7 PM will be donated with no refunds.

CAKES
-
Yes! I offer vegan vanilla and vanilla made with gluten-free ingredients. I want everyone to be able to enjoy a delicious and beautiful cake regardless of their dietary restrictions, so I developed these recipes from my fan-favorite signature vanilla recipe.
PLEASE NOTE: I am a New York State Certified Home Processor and every cake is made in my home kitchen. While I take great care in handling your cakes and minimizing the risk of cross-contact, my kitchen regularly processes milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, and sesame. Because these allergens are present in my kitchen, I cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contact. For this reason, I do not recommend these for individuals with severe food allergies or those with celiac disease.
As someone who personally lives with anaphylactic food allergies, transparency is something I take seriously. Every cake box is packaged with a complete ingredient label so you'll always know exactly what's inside. If you have any questions about allergies or dietary restrictions, please reach out through the contact me page. I'm always happy to help you determine whether I'm the right baker for you!

My signature vanilla recipe has been a fan-favorite from the moment I released it for taste tasting and has been hitting the spot ever since. All of the recipes (traditional vanilla, vegan vanilla, vanilla made with gluten-free ingredients, and the vanilla frosting) are my own creations, all made from scratch. They make such a delicious combination for this very reason! They also took a very long time to develop and perfect. I'm incredibly proud of what I've created and always want to provide you with cake that has that same melt-in-your-mouth crumb, regardless of your dietary restrictions. For now, I'm focused on other projects, but I may get back to flavor development in the future!

While transporting your cake, support the base of the box with two hands and keep the cake level at all times. Once you arrive home, place the cake in the refrigerator. Do your best to keep cakes out of direct sunlight as it affects the brightness of colors and can quickly dull them.
Cakes should be removed from the fridge 1-2 hours before being served for optimal cake texture and flavor. After serving if you have leftovers (teach me your ways) store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Cakes are best enjoyed within 3-4 days of pickup.
-
Yes! Cakes are best enjoyed within 3-4 days of pick up. (2-3 days for Baby Sprinkles.) Once you arrive home with your cake, follow all provided cake care instructions and place your order in the fridge. Remove 1-2 hours prior to serving and you'll have a delicious and beautiful cake ready to enjoy!
ABOUT WEEKLY SPRINKLES
-
I love the community and routine that a weekly pickup brings. Every Sunday you know that you can place an order that will brighten up your week or check dessert off your weekend party to-do list. Hotplate makes it so quick and easy. In two minutes you can have your order placed and paid for and know that on Thursday a delicious, customized cake will have your name on it.
-
I just love everything about them. The size is great because you can get a custom beautiful cake for yourself or to share with a few friends. No need to throw a huge party to justify ordering a cake! I've always said I'm my own customer and guided my business decisions with this mindset. I love being able to bring a Gathering Sprinkle to a casual game night or a picnic in the park. It's enough cake to split between 6 cake lovers or 10 friends who just want a few bites.
Additionally, mini cakes make it easy to accommodate dietary restrictions. Have a party planned with a few vegan friends? Grab a Classic Gathering Sprinkle and a Vegan Personal Sprinkle. Have a roommate with a gluten intolerance but you love all the gluten? Grab a Personal Sprinkle in both types. As someone who has been left out of dessert, not because my friends didn't care, but because they couldn't find an affordable way to include me, I love that mini cakes provide exactly that.
Also...they're adorable.
